Over at Football Study Hall I surveyed some of the better OL units of this decade in college football and what sorts of parts went into their assembly.
(I’m reposting and updating this article from its original placement). While writing up a post recently about Kavontae Turpin and the role he’ll play in the TCU offense in 2016, I decided to track the Big 12’s history of fantastically productive little guys. There have been so many, that it seemed about time that we … [Read more…]

Examining all the winning calls that brought down Alabama just brings into clearer picture how the key to beating the Tide is being able to throw the ball at a high level. Like last year, the Tide trying to be cautious with their pass-rush to allow them … [Read more…]
I can honestly say I saw that coming. If Washington can’t stop the QB-read run game for Alabama, this game won’t be much fun to watch. Check out my preview on how that will go down over at SB Nation.
These playoffs are pretty intriguing and I’m looking forward to taking them in much more than a year ago when the Bama-Michigan State game was foolishly broadcast on New Year’s Eve when we were all trying to party. Alabama vs Washington might be similarly lopsided, but at least the timing will be better. More on … [Read more…]
