That’s the name of chapter three in the book, which tells the tale of how Bob Stoops took over Oklahoma, hired “the Pirate” Mike Leach to bring the Air Raid, and transformed the Big 12 and game of football forever.
I posted an excerpt you can read for free over at Texas Tech blog, Staking The Plains. This tells the story of Leach arriving at a proof of concept when Kliff Kingsbury and Wes Welker joined forces to upset Texas in 2002, and then the absolute tear that Leach went on in subsequent seasons while cycling in new QBs every year and producing a massive tree of coaches that would later change the game.
If you enjoy it, buy the book!
